Dalmia Bharat reiterates commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility
In line with Dalmia Bharat Group Foundation’s (DBGF), focus on Corporate Social Responsibility, the company has undertaken an initiative to motivate and capacitate interested women to become self-reliant by taking up sewing as a means of livelihood. 58 Self Help Groups (SHGs) have been formed at DBGF’s target villages in Dalmiapuram and Ariyalur, of which nine are at Manakudi Village Panchayat, Ariyalur district. “This initiative is the result of a series of discussions between women who were keen to build skills helping them earn a livelihood. Tailoring was identified as one such activity that could create the desired value. 20 women have already come forward to learn tailoring with a consensus to contribute towards trainer fee as well as run the centre at the infrastructure facility provided by the State Government,” said Mr.Vishal Bhardwaj ,AED, Dalmia Bharat. To support this initiative, DBGF would be providing the group with eight sewing machines, which will be used for training as well stitching.
