Launches 100-Day TB awareness campaign in collaboration with the Wockhardt Foundation

Hazaribagh, 7th December 2024: In a significant step towards enhancing community healthcare access, Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd. (DCBL), one of India's leading cement manufacturers, launched a new Mobile Medical Unit (MMU) in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand today. The MMU will play a crucial role in reaching the remote corners of rural communities, providing them with vital healthcare services and resources that are often difficult to access. The initiative kicked off with a 100-day Tuberculosis (TB) awareness campaign in partnership with the Wockhardt Foundation, a non-profit focused on human welfare. This project aims to raise awareness, educate, and screen villagers for TB, enabling early detection and timely treatment. The MMU was officially launched by Dr. Saryu Prasad Singh, Chief Medical Officer and Civil Surgeon, Hazaribagh, alongwith Dr. Arun Selvin, WHO consultant. It will cater to five surrounding villages Parra, Chahti Bariyatu, Nawakhap, Gopda & Dumri, offering TB awareness and screening services. Through this mobile unit, Dalmia Cement seeks to support the region with regular healthcare services, especially in hard-to-reach areas.

Commenting on the initiative, Mr. Ganesh Jirkuntwar, National Manufacturing Head, DBL, said, "At Dalmia Bharat, we believe that health is the cornerstone of a thriving community. Through our mobile medical units, we aim to bring essential healthcare to remote villages, ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment for those in need.
