Dalmia Cement strengthens its foothold in Karnataka
Engages with 300 dealers in Hubli and Belgaum
Dalmia Cement Bharat Limited (DCBL) (BSE Code: 533309|NSE Symbol: DALMIABHA and listed on MSE) today announced the launch of its superior grade cement in the Karnataka market. The flagship company of the Dalmia Bharat Group recently commenced operations at its Greenfield cement plant in Belgaum district, Karnataka. Spread over 380 acres, and with a total capacity of 2.5 million tonnes per annum, the over Rs. 1300-crore plant will cater to the needs of the customers in the Karnataka region which accounts for 5% of the total Indian cement market. Dalmia Cement has engaged with 300 dealers in the region, who will be constantly supported with end-to-end marketing, technical and logistics support.
The plant is the company’s eleventh manufacturing facility of Dalmia Cement which started operations in March 2015. As a category leader with 24 MNT cement manufacturing and with the third largest manufacturing capacity in the country, Dalmia Cement wants to address the needs of its customers more efficiently. Built on the most modern technology supplied by KHD Germany, the product will see premium positioning in the business.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Mahendera Singhi, Group CEO, Dalmia Cement said, “Cement sales are expected to grow at 5% – 6 % in the coming year and the southern region has already witnessed 1% growth in the last year. As Karnataka has been an important market for us we wish to strengthen our commitment by delivering superior grade cement, including (Dalmia Ultra Cement with HALC), from our new plant in Belgaum.”
